There are three committees and five working group in Pembury Parish Council.  They are as follows:

Finance and HR Committee

Main responsibilities

  • Oversee the council’s finances including audit
  • Oversee the management of staff and HR matters
  • Review the council’s governance and policies

Open Spaces Committee

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance of all council owned open spaces in the village
  • Oversee the floral displays
  • Maintenance and hire of sports facilities

Planning & Highways Committee

Main Responsibilities

  • Consider all planning applications in the parish and submit responses to the local planning authority,  TWBC
  • Consider highways issues in the parish and wider area

Neighbourhood Development Plan Working Group

Main Responsibilities

  • Reviewing the Neighbourhood Development Plan for recommendation to Full Council

Green Pembury Working Group

Main Responsibilities

  • Consider how to reduce CO2 emissions from Council operations
  • Liaise with local community on environmental action
  • Improve the drainage and biodiversity of Downingbury Pond

  • Make recommendations to Full Council on Parish Council run events
  • Organise Parish Council events
  • Liaise with residents on Community events

  • Make recommendations to Full Council on advertising policy and charges
  • Advisory group to the editorial team on content
