Pembury is a large village in the county of Kent in the south-east of England, UK with a population of around 6,500. It lies within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is to the north-east of the town of Tunbridge Wells.

*** SGN - Temporary Road Closure - Stone Court Lane, Pembury - 13th May 2024 ***KCC have reported that due to works planned to be undertaken by SGN, it will be necessary to close part of Stone Court Lane, Pembury, from 13th May 2024 with estimated completion by 24th May 2024.Stone Court Lane, Pembury, will be closed outside Bryher. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site. There is no alternative route for these works and access will be maintained. Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce to allow new gas connection works to be carried out, works are undertaken by SGN. The alternative route is via Maidstone Road, Badsell Road, Five Oak Green Road, Crockhurst Street, Tudeley Road, Woodgate Way, Pembury Road, A21 J A26/A2014 south east off Tonbridge join S, A21 through J A26/A2014 south east of Tonbridge S, A21 from J A26/A2014 south east of Tunbridge to J A228/A264 S, Tonbridge Road, Pembury Bypass, A21 J A228/A264 leave including two way section S, Pembury Slip southbound off, A21 through J A228/A264 S, Pembury Slip southbound on and off, Pembury Northern Bypass, Colts Hill.It is planned that the road will be closed between 07:00 hrs and 19:00 hrs. *** Secure up to £24,999 through the West Kent Rural Grant Scheme ***Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is working with Sevenoaks District Council and Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council to distribute £1.28 million pounds of capital funding from Government to projects across our rural towns and countryside. Grant awards of £2,000 - £24,999 are available for projects in the 2024/25 financial year. We are encouraging applications from businesses, cultural/heritage and community organisations, and visitor destinations.This is time limited funding that must be spent by 1 March 2025, so please raise awareness about the grants and encourage anyone interested to contact ruralgrants@sevenoaks.gov.uk who are administering the scheme on our behalf.
