Death Walked In

17 May, 2019 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

pantomime header

Following their highly entertaining performance of the farce ‘According to Rumour’ last summer and another original ‘Cinderella’ pantomime in January 2019, Pembury Players will be reverting to a full-length thriller for their next summer production.

This amateur production of the play ‘Death Walked In’ by Bettine Manktelow will be presented at the village hall in May by special arrangement with the publisher SAMUEL FRENCH LTD.

The action takes place in a small country hotel in Sussex where the lonely proprietor is struggling to make the business pay having recently become a widow. Her charming step-son is not much help to her. Two sisters arrive to stay at the hotel and this represents something of a romantic pilgrimage for the older one of them who has retained a romantic interest for the proprietor’s step-son. However the younger sister seems destined to have a relationship with him this time around. Events lead to an apparent suicide, but there remains a suspicion that it may in fact have been a murder!

‘Death Walked In’ will be performed at the Village Hall on Friday 17th & Saturday 18th May 2019. The play is primarily aimed at an adult audience; it isn’t really suitable for young children.

Tickets which are all priced at £8.00 can be reserved in advance via pemburyplayers@gmail.com or purchased from Pembury Pharmacy and they will also be available at the door.

Performances will be at 8.00 pm on Friday 17th & at 8.00 pm on Saturday 18th May. As usual there will be a well-stocked and competitively-priced licensed bar.

Make a note of the dates and you will be guaranteed a warm welcome at the show.
