Jubilee Picnic in the Park

Pembury Parish Council are pleased to host our annual Musical Picnic which has been combined with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee for 2022 only!! The event will take place on Sunday 5 June 2022 in Lower Green Recreation Ground, off Lower Green Road, Pembury.

Gates will open at 2pm when you will be able to enjoy the music from Sonny & the Harps, the Patinas and Squeeze a Crowd!  There will also be tea and cake served by HOPE Churches together from the Pavilion, open from 2pm.  An ice cream van and pizza van will also be there if you run out of your own picnic or don’t fancy bringing one!

We have a free circus skills workshop to keep the kids entertained and a coconut shy so you can test your throwing skills – come along and give it a try!

Bring a picnic and a blanket and join us for the afternoon!

FAQs

Q- Do I need a ticket?

  • No, this is a free community event funded by Pembury Parish Council for the local residents to enjoy.

Q- Is there parking at this event?

  • There is very limited parking at the event which will be allocated to blue badge holders.  Please contact deputy@pemburyparishcouncil.gov.uk or call us on 01892-823193 if you need a  parking space.
  • If there are any unallocated spaces on the day, those in need will be let in by the parking marshals and will be able to park on a first come first served basis.
  • Please walk to the event if possible

Q- Where are the entrances?

  • You can enter on foot via the entrances from Lower Green Road, Westway and Woodhill Park

Q- What time does the event start?

  • Gates will open at 2:00pm.

Q-What times does the event end?

  • 8pm

Q-What will be at the event?

  • Live music throughout the afternoon from 2pm to 8pm.  Sonny and the Harp, The Patinas and Squeeze a Crowd will be joining us!
  • Tea and cake from the pavilion – run by HOPE Churches together
  • Community stalls from 2pm.
  • Coconut Shy run by St Anselm’s Youth Church
  • Circus Skills workshop from 3:15pm
  • Penalty shoot-out
  • Fire Engine – fingers crossed!! – arriving at 3pm
  • Ice cream van
  • Pizza van

Q- Can children attend on their own?

  • No, children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.

Q-will there be anything for my children to do at the event?

  • Yes!  Not only is there the children’s play area they can use but there is also a free circus skills workshop from 3:15pm and a coconut shy. And lots of space for them to safely run around!
  • We have invited the Fire Brigade to bring their fire engine!  We hope to see them if they are not called out to an emergency!

Q- Will there be food and drink on sale?

  • There will be soft drinks, hot drinks and cakes on sale from the Pavilion and an ice cream van and pizza van onsite.

Q-Can I bring my own food and drink?

  • Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food and drink to the Rec.  Please use the bins provided to dispose of your rubbish.
